At Our Office

144 US Route 1 Suite 4 in Scarborough, ME 04074

Conveniently located just 10 minutes south of Portland, Maine, we share our newly updated space with Dr Kelsey McDonald and Coastline Direct Primary Care.

Our clinic is on the ground level with wheelchair-accessible entry and plenty of off-street parking. We welcome you to relax in our comfortable waiting area and make yourself at home with a cup of coffee, tea, or a cold drink.

In Your Home

Throughout the Portland, Maine Area

We are happy to come to you for treatment and serve the greater Portland area. Working one-on-one in your home helps us observe and identify relevant movements and patterns you may not notice in your daily activities.

At-home care is beneficial for seniors, people recovering from surgery or injury, and those who feel more comfortable outside of a clinical setting. And it’s convenient if you’re short on time or working from home.

WELLNESS - services

The ultimate goal of physical therapy is to help individuals function in their normal daily activities. To achieve this ideal, physical therapists use a range of modalities, including therapeutic exercises, manual skills, and functional training. An essential healthcare specialty, our treatment techniques promote mobility, reduce pain, improve strength and balance, restore function, and prevent disability.

At Be Well Physical Therapy, we understand how challenging it can be to rehabilitate from injuries and surgeries, manage ongoing physical problems, or stay active as you age.

MEET YOUR PT - Bonnie Topham, Owner and Lead Physical Therapist

Having grown up in southern Maine and being a 1989 graduate of the University of New England, my roots run deep here. Though opportunities have taken me out of state and doing travel work for the past nine years, it’s a dream to be home to offer compassionate care for the people of my community.

What I have seen during my 35-year career in this field is a switch to poor insurance coverage limiting my treatment plan and productivity requirements that prevent me from treating as I deem appropriate. Our cash-based model allows me the freedom to care for you like family, not insurance code.

I specialize in orthopedics and pain management, but my heart lies with keeping seniors safe and independent at home. As a certified ergonomic assessment specialist, I can help you make adjustments to your workstation to prevent injury and enable you to work safely.

What Clients Say About Bonnie:

{

Bonnie is a rare and gifted PT. At her core she is a true healer. I presented to her in a great deal of pain and immobility and felt immediately safe and cared for in her presence. She actively listens, looks, and welcomes you as you are, while not being afraid to push you physically and mentally. I’m so thankful!!

When I slipped on some black ice and strained my knee, my situation would have gotten worse if I had waited a month to see my PCP, obtain a referral, and begin PT. Instead within a mere two weeks I discarded my crutch and experienced only minor discomfort as I resumed normal walking. Bonnie was amazing. She devised a comprehensive program that I faithfully adhered to, ensuring prevention of further injury and facilitating full recovery.
